earth

We have already talked about the Czech tradition that is strange to other countries but what are some other unusual traditions from around the world? Listen and you’ll know!

Hi and Welcome to the advent edition of my podcast My Life and Other Funny Stories. In this edition, I bring you a new short Christmas-themed episode every day of December until Christmas. If you want to read the transcript of this episode, click the link in the description!

Today, we will look at some weird Christmas traditions around the world.

Number 1: Did you know that a traditional Christmas meal in Japan is KFC? Back in 1974, KFC released a festive campaign that was so popular that eating KFC became a tradition!

Number 2: Dutch children (= children from the Netherlands) leave shoes next to their fireplaces in hopes that they will get some small presents from Sinterklaas. Sometimes, they might even leave carrots in the shoes for Sinterklaas‘ white horse called Amerigo.

Number 3: In Sweden, they have a video special of Donald Duck wishing everyone a merry Christmas. It is 33 minutes long and it has been broadcast every year at 3 pm since 1957. According to the article from the website „Holidays Extra“, more than 40% of people STAY on their couch and watch it every year. If you want to check out the video, I will leave it in the notes (TADY)

All right, that is all I had for you today!
